One Step Protection
Low, or poorly ventilated decks as well as docks, require special attention, due to the damaging effects of moisture from above and below. For these demanding applications Cetol SRD incorporates finely ground transparent iron oxide pigments. These specialized pigments in combination with premium alkyd binders produce a rich, natural and uniform coloration of the wood surface, as well as providing a barrier against moisture and UV damage and offering exceptional durability in a one-coat application.

Choosing the Right System
for the Right Area. |
| The Cetol DEK Base and Rubbol DEK systems will perform if applied and maintained to the prescribed recommendations. Rapid deterioration of the deck surface can occur when there is standing water, spray from sprinkling systems, unventilated and/or skirted decks or limited gapping between the boards. Under these conditions the Cetol DEK and Rubbol DEK systems are not recommended. Also, in the case of Cetol DEK Base, deterioration will occur if the deck sits less than two feet from the ground. When these "less than ideal" conditions exist, Cetol SRD should be your choice. With no apparent film build-up, Cetol SRD offers an easy-to-use, one-step method of protection for poorly ventilated decks (i.e. less than 2ft from the ground), where high levels of moisture exist. Please refer to the Exterior application Guide for details on proper preparation and applications when using these systems. |
